GUESS WHO'S BACK

Hello friends, fans, haters, lovers, and trolls alike.

I'm back.

I took quite the hiatus, right? Like, 2 years? Crazy.

Life got in the way, my real job and responsibilities and grownup nonsense got in the way, but now that things have settled, I'm back.

I still have old ass games that are halfway reviewed, so that's where I'll be starting. I'm sure the Otome world has moved on quite a bit from where I'm at, but that's fine. I'll catch up eventually.

Thanks for all your sweet comments and encouragement, sorry to keep ya'll waiting!

Kissed by the Baddest Bidder, Eisuke Ichinomiya Review

My first Voltage review!!

Though actually the first Voltage game I played was Pirates in Love, which I will review eventually. I'm just kind of obsessed with Baddest Bidder right now since there was so much hype over it and then I disappeared for a while and though the pandemonium on line has died down, my excitement for this game has not.

So you are a maid at Hotel Tres Spades which is apparently Japan's first casino but also like a small city because it has everything in it including dorms for the staff. That sounds like my personal version of hell. Living basically at the place you work? How do you fake calling out sick if your boss is like your next door neighbor??

Any way....your clumsy ass breaks a very expensive statue while you are working in the basement, and next thing you know you're in a cage being sold at an auction for 20 million to a group of very attractive men. You have to choose one of the 5 men to "belong to" I guess, even though it was a group purchase, so I chose Eisuke first mostly because he was the only choice available at the time. Plus he has lovely highlighted hair and the 90s girl in me is a sucker for highlights.

Oh JTT and your frosted tips, be still my tween heart.

Shall We Date?: My Fairy Tales, Ocean Review

I'm back!! I actually started this review months and months ago, then I decided to travel all over the U.S. for a bit, but I'm back for a few months at least so I've got more reviews coming. Sorry if this review is disjointed..I didnt want to start the whole thing over because I am a lazy sonofabitch so I tried to pick up where I left off forever ago.

*******************

When I first started playing my Fairy Tales I wanted to play Ocean's route immediately because Little Mermaid is one of my most favorite fairy tales ever. So of course, because the universe hates me, his route was the one that was NOT available, and I had to wait like a bajillionty years for it to come out and I got really impatient and ran out of room on my phone so I got rid of that app for a while to make room for Snapchat (add me, wendylady03! I'll snapchat you pictures of food mostly, but also lots and lots of travel adventures!). So I forgot all about Ocean. Thankfully one of you lovely readers reminded me that he existed! Thank heavens, because gosh he's pretty and his route is pretty swell.

Get it, swell? Like the ocean? HA!

So Ocean is like the dreamy, beautifully tanned jock boys I only talked to in high school because I worked at the school store during lunch and we sold Pizza Hut pizza and smoothies....2 things jocks love apparently. You know what they don't love? Chubby girls with a penchant for the theatre, comic books, and anime.

Basically me in high school. I am totally much cooler now. Sort of.

I'm Alive!!

Hello my dearest Otome friends!!!

I have been MIA for far too long, I know, and I keep promising reviews and walkthroughs and then don't follow through like a total jackass. I apologize!

I've been really busy with work and traveling a bit. I went to Florida for a work conference, which even though it took place at Disney World it was a pretty lame trip. It monsooned seriously the whole time I was there so I maybe rode 4 rides, and I'm not used to that kind of humidity so I constantly felt like I was drowning. Also my hair looked like a bird's nest and there was nothing I could do about it.

I also went to San Francisco for fun, where I had the best/cutest crepes ever in Japantown.

SO CUTE.

If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair (it's a song by Scott McKenzie children, look it up!) and also go to Belly Good Cafe and Crepes in Japantown.

And then the best part was attending Anime Oasis in the magical land of Boise, Idaho!! I fangirled like a fool and met some of my most favorite english dub anime voice actors ever.

Jamie Marchi - Voice of Panty from Panty and Stocking, the narrator in Hetalia, and Masane from Witchblade!!!

AND

Monica Rial - Mei Rin from Black Butler, Renge from Ouran High School Host Club, and Stocking from Panty and Stocking!!!

Jamie and Monica are seriously adorable.

Autographery.

And then, you guys, I met Vic Mignogna and he hugged me 4 different time which I think means we are basically married now. He's Edward Elric from FMA AND Tamaki from Ouran you guys!!!!!

TAMAKI!!!!!!!!

AND I played wiffle ball with him and we sang Journey together, which is not something a lot of people can say...except everyone else that was at Anime Oasis.

Vic singing Journey to me specifically....I'm pretty sure of it.

Can we talk about how Vic owns the coolest pants on the planet?

Vic in the center wearing red shoes and black flare pants with leather paneling!! He's a rockstar.

I maybe got in Vic's autograph line a couple of times......

That was my first foray into anime conventions, and IT WAS AWESOME. I think it's going to be a thing in my life now.

Also writing reviews and walkthroughs will be a thing again, I swear on Vic Mignogna's leather paneled pants! I won't let you guys down!

Shall We Date?: My Fairy Tales, Ocean Sweet and Happy Ending Walkthroughs

Pretty, pretty Ocean. I love him for many reasons, but I especially love his crown thing. I went through a phase when I was younger where I wore jewelry on my head like a headband for a while. This was due to the Princess on Never Ending Story and because I was weird and was always trying to be different. Sometimes it backfired (VISORS WENDY, REALLY?) and sometimes it sort of worked out, like when I started a shop at the thrift store trend way before it was cool.

Such a hipster.

On to the walkthroughs!!!

Sweet Ending

Chapter One
* Use mouth-to-mouth.
* Let me make you happy.

Chapter Two
* I'm going to see my dressmaker.
* Be honest and tell him it's not possible.

Chapter Three
* Sing for me.
* Fight Aster.

Chapter Four
* Don't kiss him.
* Make him drink water.

Chapter Five
* Help him get dressed.
* Give him the elixir.

Chapter Six

* Defend myself with magic.
* Kiss him.

Chapter Seven

* Stop the fighting.
* Tell him.

Chapter Eight
* Show him the fountain.
* The flower garden.

Chapter Nine

* Tell Aster that I hate him.
* The beach.

Chapter Ten
* Reject him and go to the beach.
* Cast the spell.

Chapter Eleven

Happy Ending

It's the same as the sweet ending, until chapter six.

Chapter Six
* Fight against her with my broom.
* Don't kiss him.

Chapter Seven
* Cheer Ocean on.
* Don't tell him.

Chapter Eight
* Show him the fountain.
* The treasury.

Chapter Nine
* Tell Aster that I love Ocean.
* The beach.

Chapter Ten
* Dance with him.
* Do not cast the spell.

Chapter Eleven

Shall We Date?: Hero in Love, Hayate Shiranui Review

I was so excited for Hayate's route because he was such a mystery. From the prologue and just the looks of them, I could tell that Billy would be a playboy along with every possible American stereotype they could cram in to his personality, and Soh would be cold, strict, disciplined, and it would take a while for him to open up about his feelings. But Hayate, besides reminding me of David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust days, was hard to figure out. I couldn't tell what he would be like even from the other guys' routes, and it just upped his cool, mysterious factor by a thousand. It reminded me of developing a crush on a stranger.

Like right now I have a thing for this dude at the local coffee shop. I obviously know nothing about him besides what I've learned in our brief interactions when I order a 16 oz frozen Mr. B (the BEST DRINK EVER), which means I have learned his name, that he has tattoos, gorgeous blue eyes, and his voice sounds like sexiness. But I like to imagine he plays guitar, is extremely intelligent and witty, has great taste in music as well as a preference for chubby blonde girls, and that he lives in a funky loft somewhere downtown with his dog.

Basically the embodiment of my barista crush. Let's just get married already.

But he could just as easily work part time at the coffee shop while living with his parents and smoking a copious amount of weed...or he could be a serial killer who deals meth..or maybe he doesn't like The Beatles or Brand New....or he may not know the difference between their, there, and they're. Building something up in your mind can very quickly cause a whole lot of disappointment

* Stay still.

Vegas is the Reason I Have Been Absent

I'll be back soon with reviews for Hayate and Ocean from Hero in Love and My Fairy Tales respectively, some Dreamy Days and Baddest Bidder (my first Voltage reviews!), and Mononoke Kiss. How exciting.

Plus there have been so many other things going on....English dub actors announced for Attack on Titan (Matthew Mercer as Levi and J Michael Tatum as Erwin? Be still my beating heart!), I've got not one but two cons coming up within the next 2 months (one of which will find me face to face with Vic Mignogna), I received my Kamisama Kiss Goddess Edition pack from Funimation which I think I shall review, and they are making Drammatical Murder into an anime! SQUEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

I've been in Vegas for a bit now, and the place I'm staying at charges for wifi like it's the damn dark ages. Who charges for wifi anymore? This place apparently. They have free wifi in their bar but like I really want to sit in there surrounded by drunks who smell like cigarettes while I try and write inappropriate reviews of dating sim games. Though really, a shitty bar in Vegas seems like the ideal location to do such a thing.

Random Vegas pics!!

I celebrated my Irish heritage in Vegas for St. Patty's Day.

One day Mirage, I will stay in you.

Shall We Date?: Can't Say No, Kaoru Akizaki Review

After the craziness that was the two other routes in Can't Say No, I was prepared for absolute madness when I started playing Kaoru's route. Yet also, in all honesty, he's such a douchecanoe in the other routes that I wasn't really looking forward to playing his story at all. Out of obligation though, I played his route and I was actually pretty disappointed. And very, very bored.
