Shall We Date?: Hero in Love, Hayate Shiranui Review

I was so excited for Hayate's route because he was such a mystery. From the prologue and just the looks of them, I could tell that Billy would be a playboy along with every possible American stereotype they could cram in to his personality, and Soh would be cold, strict, disciplined, and it would take a while for him to open up about his feelings. But Hayate, besides reminding me of David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust days, was hard to figure out. I couldn't tell what he would be like even from the other guys' routes, and it just upped his cool, mysterious factor by a thousand. It reminded me of developing a crush on a stranger.

Like right now I have a thing for this dude at the local coffee shop. I obviously know nothing about him besides what I've learned in our brief interactions when I order a 16 oz frozen Mr. B (the BEST DRINK EVER), which means I have learned his name, that he has tattoos, gorgeous blue eyes, and his voice sounds like sexiness. But I like to imagine he plays guitar, is extremely intelligent and witty, has great taste in music as well as a preference for chubby blonde girls, and that he lives in a funky loft somewhere downtown with his dog.

Basically the embodiment of my barista crush. Let's just get married already.

But he could just as easily work part time at the coffee shop while living with his parents and smoking a copious amount of weed...or he could be a serial killer who deals meth..or maybe he doesn't like The Beatles or Brand New....or he may not know the difference between their, there, and they're. Building something up in your mind can very quickly cause a whole lot of disappointment

Shall We Date?: Can't Say No, Kaoru Akizaki Review

After the craziness that was the two other routes in Can't Say No, I was prepared for absolute madness when I started playing Kaoru's route. Yet also, in all honesty, he's such a douchecanoe in the other routes that I wasn't really looking forward to playing his story at all. Out of obligation though, I played his route and I was actually pretty disappointed. And very, very bored.

Shall We Date?: Can't Say No, Subaru Tadokoro Normal Ending Review

Seriously you guys, never before has the ending to a game made me feel the need to go to church and confess all my sins as strongly as this one did.

Of course, I did not go to church because if I stepped foot anywhere near it I'm sure the whole thing would burst into flames, but that is neither here nor there. Are you ready for the most ridiculously insane, smutty, despicable, and obscene otome ending ever?

Then join me on this trip into HOLY SHIT DID THAT REALLY JUST HAPPEN town, where Mayor WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK JUST HAPPENED IN FRONT OF MINE VERY OWN EYEBALLS resides.

Subaru's Sweet Ending. I don't even know where to start with this.

I just.....don't know.

Shall We Date?: Can't Say No, Subaru Tadokoro Happy Ending Review

So here are my ramblings for Subaru's Happy Ending. I just....don't even know....like it started out so well and then it all just went completely off the rails. I feel like I need a week long break after playing this route.

Shall We Date?: Can't Say No, Subaru Tadokoro Main Route Review

My hell you guys, are you ready for this? Because I don't know that I am.

Seriously, I hope you are prepared to take a one way trip on the crazy train to lunatic town where nothing makes sense and everything you ever thought you knew about life is wrong and seemingly innocent otome games are anything but. Oh, and guess what?! You'll think you're going to convince yourself that the various endings to this game totally weird you out, and you're going to put your phone down in shock and disgust only to realize moments later that you actually really liked all the endings. All of them. And you're going to pick your phone back up hesitantly at first, but then you're going to play the hell out of the game again and again and then probably again with a fervor the likes of which haven't been seen since that night 6 years ago when you played Guitar Hero for the first time completely hammered with a bunch of your friends at your apartment. You all thought you were Jimi Hendrix reincarnated and took turns shredding on that damn plastic guitar until 7 am before someone inevitably passed out in their own vomit and tears. Everyone then made a pact never to drink again mere hours before you all got drunk off jagerbombs and vodka mixed with Mountain Dew.

You'll realize after playing Subaru's route that nothing makes a lick of sense anymore so you might as well come to terms with your fucked up moral compass and weird fetishes now because this is your life from here on out; a mess of empty Pocky boxes and energy drinks strewn around you while you play an otome game that has dragged you straight down the rabbit hole into WHAT THE FUCKVILLE, where you actually want to buy a house and live forever.

Shall We Date?: Can't Say No, Akira Kasamatsu Normal Ending Review

I went back and got the normal ending in Akira's route, and mere mortal words can not explain how glad I am that I went back and got this ending. I would have been missing out on soooo many obscene screenshots and some of the best lines this particular MC has ever uttered. This ending is pretty unbelievable, I assure you.

I've already reviewed the rest of the route and the other two endings here, so this will simply be all about the normal ending.  This worked out well, I feel like this needs it's own entry any way.

Shall We Date?: Can't Say No, Akira Kasamatsu Review (Happy and Sweet Endings)

Shall We Date?: Can't Say No is my first requested game review!!!! Yay!!!

Sidenote: If you have any games you would like me to review, let me know! They have to be available on IPhone though, since that's what I have.

I chose Akira first because he was first in the list of characters. That's really all there was to it. And I chose him even though he looked like this in the prologue.

Those are the angriest eyebrows I've ever seen.

I had no idea what this game was about, but after reading the prologue I figured it would be slightly similar to In Your Arms Tonight by Voltage, just probably with more descriptive sexy times which is usually the case with Shall We Date. You guys, I was not prepared for what was about to happen.....not at all. I get so excited to play new games and so I was super stoked about this, but this game totally threw me for a loop.

Yay new otome.....wait, WTF is happening?!?!

Shall We Date?: Hero in Love, Billy Review

Billy is an American, and by golly they make that pretty clear. He's dressed like a cowboy, but not just any cowboy, he's dressed like the kind of cowboy that wins every event at the most flamboyant rodeo ever. He eats what the game eludes to as complete junk covered in ketchup and mayonnaise, but I thought it sounded like pretty typical meals for me so they got that pretty right on. He's brash, arrogant, a womanizer, is only known by his first name like Cher or Madonna, and he does things like this......

Bloew!

Shall We Date?: Hero in Love, Soh Hanamiya Review

Soh is a straight laced, no nonsense dude who acts like he's too cool for your shit. You're a burden and he sees you as nothing more than a nuisance that he begrudgingly has to deal with for the time being, much like how my parents viewed me after I moved back home and said "it'll only be for a year at most". That was four years ago. (thanks Mom and Dad! Instead of buying a house I'm spending my money on otome games, Netflix, and trips to Vegas and California).

I played Soh's route first because after I saw how much he looked like Masato Hijirikawa from Uta no Prince-sama I couldn't help myself. I love me some Hijirikawa.

WHY HIJIRIKAWA SENPAI??? IS IT BECAUSE YOU'RE FICTIONAL??

Shall We Date?: My Fairy Tales, Seanwhite Sweet Ending Review

Seanwhite is dreamy in a sort of naïve way. He is a playboy, but I do believe he honestly doesn't realize what he's doing. He just loves females and loves love and loves apples and loves your face and that's just how it is. He thinks you are the greatest thing that's ever happened in his life, and I appreciate that quality in a man. Adore the ground I walk on and think I'm amazing, please and thank you.

So same as Cindo's route, you travel to a different world and must fulfill someone's wish and make them happy before you can go home. Easy enough.

Shall We Date?: My Fairy Tales, Cindo Review

So in NTT Solmare's newest game you get to charm a male version of a classic fairytale character. I started with Cindo, because I have a thing for animated characters with white hair. Plus from his description he sounded a bit like an bad boy, and I like that. He reminded me a bit of Tomoe from Kamisama Kiss, and I freaking love Tomoe!

Do you think there is a way in which I could legally marry a fictional fox/man?

Cindo is the male version of Cinderella, but unlike Cinderella he is kind of an asshole to everyone, including his stepdad and stepbrothers. He is obsessed with marrying royalty so he can have money and power, so he's a gold digger. He's also super attractive, but he knows it and likes to remind you of that fact.

You are a magician's apprentice/witch, (the titles are used interchangeably, so I guess it's the same thing?) and you are training with your Grandma in the art of magic. You have a magic talking book, a magic staff, and a magic broomstick. Pretty awesome. One day you find some weird doors in your Grandma's house, and you have to choose which one you want to enter.

Shall We Date?: Ninja Love, Hanzo Hattori Review

Hanzo is the responsible leader of the ninjas who is just a little bit dim when it comes to dealing with women. I was crazy excited to play his route because in all the other stories he's so stoic and responsible and proper that I couldn't wait to see another side of him. His route reminded me a bit of Kotaro, in the best way possible.

I had heard that Hanzo's route was not as long as the others, and at first I was pretty upset about the whole thing. Why wouldn't Hanzo get to have a story as long as the others? Why only 7 chapters?!? And I started his route the same day that I had a horrible day at work and just wanted to curl up in a ball and die, so I felt like this short Hanzo route was just kicking me when I was already down.

Shall We Date?: Ninja Love, Rennoshin Review

Ren is a very talented doctor, swordsman, and all around sweetheart with a weird, sorta pervy side. I really can't pinpoint exactly why I liked him so much, but he was probably one of my favorite characters from Ninja Love. I wouldn't say his route itself was my favorite, but Ren himself is very high on my list of awesome otome characters.

Shall We Date?: Ninja Love, Munenori Yagyu Review

Munenori has beautiful hair, a gorgeous face, and is an expert swordsman, but he is RUDE AS SHIT. He blames it on his upbringing, that he was taught not to show his true intentions, but he's so cold and harsh and brutal that I for a split second wondered how on earth they were going to make me fall in love with him.

Shall We Date?: Ninja Love, Musashi Miyamoto Review

I was super excited to play Musashi's route because I wanted to see how the relationship would develop and how lovey dovey he would be, or if he would leave you for his sword since that's all he talks about in the other routes.

He's a ronin, not a ninja, and he seems a bit naïve when it comes to dealing with women, unlike most of the ninjas who seem to be VIP members at all the brothels in every town. The best word to describe Musashi is ADORABLE. He is clumsy and awkward, but he tries so hard to be charming and gentle, and this makes him super cute.

Shall We Date?: Ninja Love, Sasuke Sarutobi Review

Brash, confident, mischievious, and he basically loves you from the get go and is not afraid to let you know. Unlike the other ninjas, there is no second guessing his feelings, you know he likes you, and so does everyone else within earshot.

I honestly thought that I would dislike Sasuke's route because let's face it, in all the other characters stories he is damn annoying, always popping up declaring his love for you even though you have seriously hung out for maybe 2 seconds in the prologue. I know I'm lovable and all, but let's take it down a notch, okay?

Shall We Date?: Ninja Love, Kotaro Fuma Review

Kotaro is the strong, silent type which can sometimes be frustrating, but I'm just going to go ahead and say right now that KOTARO IS MY FAVORITE NINJA. He is so proper, nice, and caring that I found myself squealing out loud too many times while smiling like an idiot throughout his route.

Shall We Date?: Ninja Love, Saizo Kirigakure Review

****SPOILERS AHEAD****

Saizo starts out as a bit of a bully, treating you like a child and a burden once Hanzo isn't around to keep him in check, but even while he's being mean and calling you an idiot, monkey, and dumbass, he still takes care of you and is actually super sweet. Except again with the headbutting!! Why are theses ninjas so keen to headbutt others??

Any way, Saizo was interesting in that he would go from being completely cold to completely adorable in a split second and my heart almost couldn't handle it.

Shall We Date?: Ninja Love, Goemon Ishikawa Review

Before we start anything, let me say....

****SPOILERS****

***SO MANY SPOILERS***

**RETURN TO TUMBLR AND TUMBLR SOME AWESOME ATTACK ON TITAN PICS FOR ME RIGHT NOW IF YOU DO NOT WANT GOEMON SPOILERS**

Okay kids, let's begin.

So I had no idea what I was getting into when I started playing this game. I had never played ANY otome games before and the only anime I had ever seen was Spirited Away once in high school and I thought I was too cool for such things, so I was not prepared for all the feels I was about to experience about a fictional character.
