Shall We Date?: My Fairy Tales, Cindo Review

So in NTT Solmare's newest game you get to charm a male version of a classic fairytale character. I started with Cindo, because I have a thing for animated characters with white hair. Plus from his description he sounded a bit like an bad boy, and I like that. He reminded me a bit of Tomoe from Kamisama Kiss, and I freaking love Tomoe!

Do you think there is a way in which I could legally marry a fictional fox/man?

Cindo is the male version of Cinderella, but unlike Cinderella he is kind of an asshole to everyone, including his stepdad and stepbrothers. He is obsessed with marrying royalty so he can have money and power, so he's a gold digger. He's also super attractive, but he knows it and likes to remind you of that fact.

You are a magician's apprentice/witch, (the titles are used interchangeably, so I guess it's the same thing?) and you are training with your Grandma in the art of magic. You have a magic talking book, a magic staff, and a magic broomstick. Pretty awesome. One day you find some weird doors in your Grandma's house, and you have to choose which one you want to enter.

**SPOILERS AHEAD**
Once you enter the door leading to a castle, you meet Cindo in a courtyard and a little later the door totally disappears, leaving you trapped where you are unless you fulfill someone's wish and make them happy. You think Cindo's a prince because he's so good looking....

...but really he's a total jerk on a power trip. He has your magic staff and will only give it back if you agree to be his slave and fulfill his wish.

I would  love to use the staff...INNUENDO (¬‿¬)

You agree, and go to his house where his jerk of a stepdad and two brothers, who apparently treat Cindo like a slave, are totally cool with him bringing some strange girl home to be his maid and sleep in his room. Makes sense.

Older stepbrothers apparently, even though they look like they're 12.

Cindo's dad is a DILF. He's got an Ian Somerhalder thing going on.

Cindo wants you to use your amateur magic to make the princess fall in love with him so he can get married and rule the land. He makes you call him master and treats you like a dog. He then does this after he is hit in the face with some love potion you tried to make...

Oh, good to know.

Eventually though he becomes a little more likable. He lets you sleep in the bed instead of on the floor, he buys you a gift, and he compliments you. Oh and you somehow fall into the tub with him and land right on his lips, without even breaking your nose or anything.

Look at the gorgeousness of this CG. LOOK AT IT!!!

You cocky bastard.

And just like that, you're in love. You use your magic to get him to the ball, and make yourself gorgeous in the process..

Oh gee, thanks.

This is classic Cindo, saying rude things immediately followed by something nice.

During the ball Cindo's hot dad hits on you, and like any other man, Cindo realizes he really does love you once he sees all the attention you're getting from other men.

All it took was a magic makeover and getting hit on by his dad.

Cue midnight, you both change back into your old clothing, and you lose his mom's glass slipper he let you borrow while running from the guards.

Then the royal guards come looking for the girl who fits the slipper, and hey, that's you! They take you and Cindo back to the castle presumably to make Cindo the princess's husband, but PLOT TWIST, she's actually his sister!!!!

So from here the story goes to either the sweet ending, or the happy ending.

Happy Ending, aka the PG Version;

The magic door reopens because you've made Cindo happy, and you decide to leave him and go home because he certainly can't be happy with you since he's a prince and you're a nobody, even though he's already told you numerous times that you are his happiness. He catches up with you and you return to your world together where you get married, live in a little cabin, and he works as a waiter in a café owned by Seanwhite and his dwarves.

Seriously, this whole running away alone thing just seems like you're seeking attention and validation MC. Lame.

Oh hello Seanwhite, I will get to you in a minute....

YAWN.

Sweet Ending, aka the Rated R Version aka My Preferred Ending;

You and Cindo get married and decide to stay in the castle.

After your marriage ceremony, this bit of ridiculously hot sexy time goes down.....

Children, avert thine eyes.....
OMFG

I'll admit, this ending even made me blush. Holy freaking shit Cindo, that ending is amazing.

Also can I just say that the Shall We Date CGs are always so gorgeous? Voltage may be the premier otome game maker, and I do love them very much, but they have nothing on the Solmare CGs.

Wendy's Otome Rating Scale

7.25 fangirl screams out of 10.

Preferred snacks for Cindo's route;

A Hobo Dinner. Not a very PC title, but it seems fitting since you are basically a servant girl for most of the route.

Chocolate covered cinnamon bears. Sweet with a kick, just like Cindo.

Wild Cherry Slurpee. To be consumed during the sweet ending to keep you cool. Also the title....wild....cherry.....get it?!?!

  1. I didn't know where to put this so I'll put it here since I just finished Cindo's story. I freaking love your reviews of the stories. You write just like I do so I find it very enjoyable to ready your reviews and I totally agree with you on 98% of everything you write haha (Goemon was my first too...and omg). If you have time, I'd love for you to review Mononoke Kiss. Keep up the awesome reviews!! :D

    1. Thank you so much! I just saw a screenshot for Mononoke, I hadn't really heard much about it yet but it looks amazing so I'll definitely be playing that one.
